OktoberForest also means the return of a highly anticipated Cairn seasonal: Spruce Hugger Red IPA!
Infused with spruce tips, many people describe this beer as a forest in your pint glass. Inspired by a PNW native tree, Spruce Hugger honors the beauty of North Creek Forest.
Released along with the kick-off of OktoberForest, Spruce Hugger will be available in cans and on draft for pints. For every pint and can sold, Cairn is donating $1 to Friends of North Creek Forest.
Cairn will release Spruce Hugger Wednesday, 9/27-- see you there!
Held in the Cairn Taproom, Friends of North Creek Forest will be giving a series of pub talks each Wednesday in October!

So why OktoberForest? An annual program through The Nature Conservancy, OktoberForest highlights the link between healthy forests and creating delicious craft beer.
While hops and malts get a lot of press, the true star of a good craft beer is clean water which makes up 95% of the finished product. Without clean drinking water, breweries wouldn't be able to produce the pints we all love.
Healthy forests are an integral part of our watersheds, acting as a giant filter for rain water entering local watersheds. The more acres of healthy forests present around a watershed, the cleaner and healthier water from that area is!
Which makes things as simple as this:
Healthy Forest = Cleaner Water = Better Beer
If you love beer, you should love healthy forests.
Happy OktoberForest to everyone. Come by for a pint and help our forests!
Cheers!
